My name is Scott Corum… hence, matters of deCorum.  I’ve been some places and seen some things; I’ve gotten into areas of knowledge that are wildly diverse and occasionally obscure.  I thought I’d set aside some space to talk about them.  I do tend to ramble on and get confused, and for my own sake, I need to organize my thoughts from time to time.  I like to organize things graphically… hey, look!  Cartoons!

This is the icon for me just chatting about, more or less, random things.  My posts that start with this icon may be about events with my family, something that happened over at a friend’s house, a neat recipe, or some calm, well-reasoned thoughts on matters in general.

Sometimes, my thoughts are less well-reasoned, and I may need to rant a little bit.  So, this icon means that Scott is angry in this particular post.  It may appear in conjunction with other icons.

I’m a game designer by trade; I’ve been playing role-playing games for nigh unto thirty years, now, and I’m not going to be stopping any time soon.  I’m more involved in the RPG industry now than ever, so this icon means that I’ll be talking about gaming-related topics; my games, other people’s games, games as a whole, game theory, you name it.

Oddly enough, I’m also a Biblical Theologian with a degree in religious education.  I will NOT be a proselytizer on my blog (or anywhere else, for that matter)… I have zero interest in telling you what I think you should believe in.  I may share my thoughts on religion and faith here; they’re not, in any way, mainstream.  I do have some opinions about mainstream religion, though… expect to see this icon with “ranty,” up above.

I’m not a political analyst, but I’m as stuck in the middle of the American political process as anyone else to lives here.  From time to time, I’m probably going to have to share some thoughts on the process.  Again, expect to see “Ranty” along with this one.

I’m what you might call a “Foodie.”  In fact, long before there was a Foodie movement, my brain was already organized around food… I can’t remember every museum I’ve ever visited, but I keep track of all of my travels by where and what I ate.  When you see the “Hungry Roger,” here, I’m going to be talking about things culinary.

There may be more icons added, over time, as I find a need to further organize my thoughts.  For now… this is me.  I hope you enjoy reading!
